2019 Race Results

2019 Race Summary -

We had a lot of snow this season but also a lot of rain which made training for longer races difficult.  In the fall we have to map out our tour vs race weekend calendar and stick to that plan so when races get cancelled or postponed often times we can't attend as it's a tour weekend.  Some races we chose to skip due to rock hard, super fast snow conditions (which we call snow-crete) which we prefer not to race on.  95% of our sled miles this season were on tour sleds. We managed to make it to two races, one was a sprint race which was fun, a very nicely put on event with  lovely trail conditions.  Even though we didn't place high up the list our times were good compared to the very fast sprint/hound teams making SDO & SD time.  Our second race was a 16 miler in Colebrook.  Another great trail and excellent conditions, very windy and almost blizzard like conditions at the start.  It was our dogs longest run this season and they pulled off a 1, 2 finish!  So proud of our dogs!  Next year we are planning more races and in the mileage range we love, 15-30 miles.  Thank you everyone who sponsored a dog this season and cheered us on!
